    Hi Property Experts,

    I’m considering adding a second floor to my house; I live in PB.
    My concern is that my property will get re-assessed and my property tax will go way up.  I bought the house in 2008.
    If I renovate, say add a 1000sf second floor, will my bigger renovated house get a reassessment?  If so, I’m guessing that’d be a doubling or a tripling of my property tax relative to what I pay now.

    You will get reassessed on the value it adds. The original portion of the property will continue to be assessed how it was
