I’ve been reading a lot of the posts here about Temecula/Murietta area and how the market is hit hard there. I’m wondering about La Cresta, which is a very large gated community of large acreage (5 acres min) properties in the Santa Rosa Plateau area just west of Murietta. In fact, it’s postal zone is Murietta. It’s a beautiful area, rural, yet just minutes to all that Temecula has to offer. I have an eye to buy there someday, and have been watching prices closely for a couple of years. They have not come down hardly at all! Nothing at all like Murietta proper. In fact, I was there last week driving around and one of the properties that I got a flyer from actually increased it’s price since last year. Not sold, so go figure. Local realtors tell me that the low end (around 1M) is holding firm, even though sales are “very” slow, but the high end (2M+) is selling well. From what I’ve been learning at various websites, this one included, is that nothing will be immune to the price declines in progress. What gives with this area?
