I think the tradeoff is between basically living a subsistence life somewhere far away from everything, (assuming that nuclear winter doesn’t just f** up the ecosystem with a mass animal die-off.
Or watching the incoming ICBMs with MIRVs as them come into SD.
If you know you’ll just starve to death, I would definitely pick the later of watching SD get nuked by multiple MIRVs.
