She got into great schools like UCI, Cal poly SLO, almost NYU Tisch (waitlist with acceptance rates lower than Ivy’s for her interests) but flat out rejected at SDSU. Right now there is a big push to grow CSU San Marcos. They want the kids from the top school districts there instead of SDSU to help build its rep. If you live north of 56 in SD county they try to push you there now. She didn’t want to go there, I just told her to apply to have as many good options open as she could. Was told what is happening so not unexpected.
