Ok. i think really what you mean is it shouldn’t matter.
it shouldnt matter whether a black guy or a white guy or a woman or a man is elected, because we are all people, all created equal, and all can only choose to act from a certain limited range of human response options available to us all in equal measure.
and i agree with that. but
I think the reality is that while there’s a range of possibilities on how a given man or a woman sees the world, there are qualities unique to being a woman that make that range different than men.
so while i agree, from a perspective of how the world ought to be, we all ought to be judged on the content of our viewpoints, i think the reality is, just as we select our final candidate based on emotion, the candidate is also emotion and hormone driven.
therefore, sex matters.
(i wonder if “fear of being controlled” is largely a male fear? or if it is a fear spread equally among the sexes, whetehr or not the type or nature of control that is feared varies widely in distribution across sexes.)
i feel extremely controlled having been raised as a child in a particular society. the govt was the least of it!
