Merits of the deal aside, I always chuckle at the phrase “draining the swamp.” A swamp is, in fact, a thriving, robust ecosystem. Draining one reduces it to a much less resilient monoculture.

Sort of what Trump is trying to do in DC, but I don’t think he realizes that the phrase is more apt than he intended.
