Agree with the article that many marry the wrong person (witness the divorce rate), but “you will marry the wrong person” is pretty strong and wrong. I married the right person.
My theory ever since I was dating is that one needs to live with a potential spouse for a minimum of one year before tying the knot. It is one thing to date, but living with someone day to day is the only way to know them very well. To see them at their best and at their worst and in all moods. Only then can you make an educated decision about something as important as a permanent partner.
People can put on a good mask when they are around someone for a few hours a few times a week. But full time every single day – not so much. That mask is gonna drop here and there.
