Alcoholism isn’t a major cause of ill health in the US — I don’t think that a 50% increase in alcohol consumption over US levels would have a major effect on public health. If anything, fewer stressed-out teetotalers might be a good thing. Sit back, drink a glass of wine after dinner and chill out a bit.
