I want to address your assertion that BG and/or I claim that public sector workers are “better.” If you look back at all of the threads where you perceive this argument, you’ll find that we are almost always posting in response to some ignorant comment about how public sector workers don’t deserve their pay, or that any HS dropout could do the job, or that the private sector worker is superior to the public sector worker. BG and I both have personal experience and knowledge that most/all of these posters do not have, and we will most definitely correct them when they are wrong (which is far too often).
I’ve worked in both the public and private sectors — worked in the private sector the longest — and can say without any doubt that the standards for public service are generally higher with respect to education, background/psychological history, and often WRT experience (though that can vary from one position to the next).
If you want to chastise anyone for being “elitist” look to those who initiate their unfounded attacks.
