The center console in cars is an artifact of a transmission and/or exhaust hump. Tesla Model S doesn’t have one — personally, with the width of the Model S, I’d just as soon have a 3-person bench seat in front, sculpted as buckets on the left and right sides.

I like the straight-across dash. Reminds me of my uncle’s old Citroen DS 🙂
