Jazzman: I have no problem with lofty, and I understand the greater good, especially as it relates to a social/civic compact. Where it breaks down is in the practical application. There are an estimated 300 million guns in the US. How in the name of God do you see that number of weapons being seized, confiscated, etc?

Not trying to be intentionally difficult, but this would appear to be an insoluble problem.
