I took and pass my real estate exam last year but I have not file for my real estate license. I have a recent and extensive police record and I am afraid that I will be denied. Please do not take me wrong. I am not a bad person but only an individual who is working to make a change.
I wanted to see if anyone here were granted their license regardless of their record. Or has anyone been denied of their license.
Any advice would be highly appreciated.
Sorry what I meant to say was that it is almost criminal how little knowledge and experience is employed by the average real estate licensee. When you add these factors with a blatant lack of partiality and you have a situation that invites criminal activity.
I am not sure what would happen. As you know part of the process is to get your prints. If you do not have any outstanding warrants, and if you are not a deadbeat dad or something like that you should be okay. I do not recall the requirements about previous convictions.
If you do not try you will never know. Part of getting back into the world is to cope with the ramifications of your past.
Go for it and see… Just know that real estate is not a tough profession right now.

I don’tmean to scare you. I think you should go for it. Its a waste if you wait!
Honesty: License applicants must be honest and truthful. Conviction of a crime, that is either a felony or involves moral turpitude, may result in the denial of a license. The failure to disclose any felony may also result in the denial of a license..
