Is the Boom Going Bust?
After more than three years of steady gains, the region’s home sales have reversed course and fallen the past eight months. The spiraling, double-digit gains in home values in recent years also are dwindling.
Are these signs of a severe market correction, a more gradual slowdown or merely a statistical blip?
John Karevoll, analyst for La Jolla-based DataQuick Information Systems, will discuss a wide range of data on the housing markets in Southern California and the Inland area, including home sales, price appreciation, foreclosure activity and mortgage lending patterns.
Using DataQuick’s extensive real estate databases, he generates an array of real estate data used by public agencies, lending institutions, title companies, consumers, educational institutions and the media. As an analyst for DataQuick, he is frequently quoted in newspapers and interviewed on radio and television.
