Qualcomm has a history of expanding in sorrento valley. Unlike most other companies, qualcomm typically has bought the buildings it occupies. The joke we use to say is that QC probably made more money buying the buildings the it’s VC arm did in investing in other companies.
There might not be a lot of residential housing in sorrento valley, but there definitely is a lot of open office buildings.
