I can tell you that our gym, those who grunt are laughed at, even by the trainers.

I’m not talking about the ocassional grunt that can be heard 5-10 feet max. That’s okay.

I’m talking about the deep bellowing grunts with each lift that can be heard loudly at 50 ft.

As for acceptability, it’s a sliding scale between those two…
