I hear Qcom (at least if you read the industry rags) is a good company to work for although I have never asked a qcom minion what they think.
From what I have seen if you go into management make sure you keep your hands dirty (keep involved in the engineering) I have seen more than a few colleagues go into management then canned and not able to find work. Seems there really is an overabundance of middle type managers (so much for the go go biz school era of the nineties).
believe it or not there is a shortage of good engineers so that is where I would stay if I could.
Think about being an unemployed would you rather had been a Middle manager or engineer?
As for TV they do have a few Chip companies, but I really have never looked in TV so am not really sure what is available in the way of job’s.
you’re too late to climb the qcom corp ladder starting at ground 1…By about 10 years…..You’re better off taking your chances at a startup.
