You are right junction boxes are O.K. The other aspect of multiple power sources is o.k. if you say so. How are you going to get rid of the meter without a permit? Maybe you will just disconnect the buss work? Someone is going to know sooner or later, right? You got a great deal on the inverters and other stuff for sure. Good luck.
