On Sunday we brought the kids to the Y for a swim… I got to catch a few minutes of our favorite LIAR George Chamberlain, which is all I could tolerate. George spoke about the July numbers for San Diego which HE interpreted as being mostly good… I simply cannot fathom how this guy can do this. It is such a disservice. He said he was also upset that the press is jumping on this slight negative news about San Diego real estate.
I am sure you guys also may have read in the San Diego Union this weekend that the developers are now hiring families to act in the homes during the weekends and such…
I wouldn’t be surprised to see class action lawsuits against these advertisers, real estate seminar promoters, even the NAR. Just wait until you have a million people in foreclosure in the US; that collective anger and desperation will seek to blame anybody and everybody. In our country, we have more lawyers than engineers, all standing by to serve their country in the court of law. What will be the Enron of real estate?
SDR, so you saw George Chamberlain at the Y, or you heard him on the radio? In person, I wonder if he actually talks the same nonsense as on the radio. Can he really be that stupid? If he is not stupid, and instead lying, what do you think his motives are? I don’t know why it should matter to him if real estate crashes or not unless he has a lot of investment properties that he bought in 2004 and is in denial.
That article in the UT about the home staged family sure tells the tale of how desperate things are becomming, eh? The wife even bakes cookies in the model…what a joke. Next thing you know they will have staged neighborhood BBQs and false neighbors who say hello as you walk up to the model!

Anyways no we were tuned in on the radio… I also wonder about how he is in person….I mean can he honestly believe his own rhetoric in the face of the data…
Also he had his good buddy Mayran on for a few minutes… So George was blustering on about how the rates have dropped and how that is an indicator of how the market should heat up and you should buy now… Mayran actually tried to inject in a very light manner, how he believes the rate drops are indicative of an upcoming recession…. George kept blathering on….
What puzzles me about George is this: aren’t you supposed to be good-looking to be a newscaster? That guy’s yellow skin, greasy hair, and slurpy speech (doesn’t he ever swallow his spit??) grosses me out. I’ve wondered for years why he isn’t laid off for his disgusting mannerisms. If I were the station manager, I would put him on print media, only. I have not listened to him long enough to know anything he had to say, since he grossed me out so badly. Now that we know he is Alan Gin on steroids, why in the world does he still have that job?
(I would get a kick out of Alan doing a google search on his name, and finding “Alan Gin on steroids”, hahahaha)
Chambermaid get paid by SD real estate association for delivering speeches (he “brags” about this occasionally) and may in fact get paid for being a silent spokesman. So its in his best interest to pull a Lay: No problem here, keep buying that stock of homes.
