Then to follow this logic to it’s inevitable conclusion, they would have to introduce a time when to publicly kill him off. Which would require a theater like event. Correct? I mean, that is what it would take.
Following it even further, then it is conceivable that if he had died years ago, it would have been advantageous to “have been kept quite” for a myriad of reasons

I mean, the best special forces team on the planet kills a sick unarmed old man, who happens to be a head of the most feared and dangerous criminal organization of the century, which could potentially be carrying out plans across the planet, and then quickly dumps his body into the sea. It’s not like a trial or interrogation would be worth anything compared to a quick unnecessary assassination and removal of evidence.
Yeah, you’d have to really “need this one” to believe that story.
