Well I’ll be darned…landlord called this AM and gave me an hour notice and came by to put in the baseboards (6 weeks later). One of the first things he said is that he had fixed the heating duct under the house the last time he was here, a week ago. I didn’t know that so that was a surprise(we weren’t home).
Better late than never I guess.
@EconProf…we did notice some things…like filthy window tracks….but we didn’t really comprehend this issues until we had been here a week or two. Example…cat hair in the bathroom cabinets even though the previous renter had no cat…female hygiene products in the same cabinet…we finally figured out this was from them(the landlord), they had cats, and it had been there since they moved out in ’08. The previous renter was here only 1.5 years and left things the way she found it….he has paint and tools taking up 1/3 of the garage, stating that “the house always needs tools”. He said when we moved in he’d fix the rain gutters before the rainy season and fix the driveway…and trim the pepper trees etc, still waiting on those(missing rain gutters causing so much collateral damage). There is a hole in the balcony door that I could kick a hole in if I tried…promised that fix too.
He’s not going to be able to keep good people here, in spite of the “pluses”. Most people want to live in comfort…of course, crack heads are less demanding.
AnyWho…started work on a veg. garden today, removed rouge bamboo, ate an orange off the tree…
