Rustico, I have nothing to do with the either pledge, it’s just always done that way, and I have not discussed any of the implications. This is apparently a Little League tradition, as best as I can tell. The moment my kids moved here two years ago, it was just something everyone was already doing.
I have not heard any objections, and I have some serious Libs on my teams. I do let me son’s giggle at their bumper stickers though. After they giggled at one of the stickers I explained to my kids (in front of the car owner dad) ahh kids, he’s a lawyer, he is supposed to have those things on his car.
You have to have fun with this stuff. As I constantly remind one of my “AlGore-Vegetarian” assistant coaches to give his kid some dang steak…he is almost 2 years older than mine and much smaller. As long as you don’t take yourself too seriously you can poke fun at one another’s beliefs.
