Believe me, Zeit and I have gone round and round before and we have our differences, in spite of sharing a common conservative background.
What I took issue with, and addressed, were the assertions YOU made, NOT Zeit. And, yes, you did take a hard stand along the lines of “all Conservatives are unthinking evangelical Christians” when nothing could be further from the truth.
I’m tired of the same old tired rhetoric that conflates conservatism with born-again Christianity (another group I have significant issues with) and stifles meaningful dialogue and discourse by conveniently pigeonholing people based on meaningless and wrong assumptions.
You want to debate using facts, fine. I’m all for that. But don’t tell me what I believe and don’t use talking points in place of actual history. This country is horribly polarized right now, and for these very same reasons.
