eavesdropper, I too, love floor-to-ceiling rock (or flagstone) fireplaces with high hearths, even in a one-story (13′ vaulted ceiling) A-frame cabin. I, too, love those artifacts mounted on the wall (except for excessive taxidermy) where I would feel as if I lived in a museum . . . lol!
