Folks looking for enterprise software development, about this time Intuit has quite a few openings available. They’re hiring pattern usually opens up right after May to the end of the year.
Aside from the tax business, san diego also has some other divisions too, and with the recent Mint acquisition, it probably has more.
While it’s not necessarily my cup of tea, it is a pretty good company. Not tech driven, so ultra-geeks/nerds might not fully like it. It helps if you know someone on the inside for a referral, since there’s layers administration, and the resumes often don’t make it to folks who are interested ,because it’s lost in the HR dept.
In general, for any job seeker, imho, you should try to understand the “circular psychology of hiring”…Usually, when a person first gets a req it’s only open for a duration before it’s taken away. What happens often is hiring person starts out with lofty goals in trying to get the “best, most qualified person”. In that pursuit, often times it doesn’t matter if you are the best candidate..If you happen to be the one of the first couple of people that are talking to first, chances are you’re going to be put on hold..
That’s why especially in this environment, you need to find out how long that position(s) has been open, and try to figure out when is approximate “drop dead date”.. You don’t want to be the person that is the first batch that will be forgotten.
