My understanding is that it mostly depends on the kind of cancer you’ve got. I think there are several cancers that have pretty high cure rates even at Stage 4. Likewise, there are a bunch of cancers that, even if they are accidentally discovered prior to Stage 4, are death sentences. Pancreatic cancer (my mother) and glioblastomas (my dad) come to mind. I ain’t no expert, and Stage 4 is always bad, but I really think it depends on what kind of cancer is involved.
