costco purchases are up apparently
Everytime I go to Costco..or the mall in San Diego I think to myself “what recession?”. On the weekends Costco is PACKED to the rafters. Even on the weekdays, when I try to go, it is crazy. I try to get in and out as fast as possible…the ‘snackers’ seriously piss me off /rant.
I have the same issue when I step inside a Gymboree store. Oh my gosh, since the start of this recession, I have not been to a single Gymboree sale in which the on sale items that were in the normal sizes weren’t picked clean….It’s amazing, go into another store like Children’s Place, and the store shelfs are completely full (even with clearance signs all over the place)..Go into a gymboree store at the same time, and the store is picked clean….I don’t get it. I guess good quality stuff for kids is virtually recession proof….
Truth is, I don’t shop that much..The only places I shop are the for kids stuff these days. And I have to say, gymboree stuff on sale with the gymb bucks makes it a very attractive/compelling reason versus regular prices at other kids places…
I’m so mad I sold this company’s stock. It held up throughout the past 3-4 years since I started following them when the rest of retail had cratered. What stock did I buy after selling of Gymboree? Stupid intel…..
