I paid $92,000.00 for my car and I live in a small apartment. I am very responsible with money, thus have accumulated a comfortable amount of assets. I have no debt and no children to feed. I bought the car because I genuinely enjoy the car. You can call the car a poor investment, but I call it a hobby. Life is short. I say; “as long as you have no debt and you can pay cash,” why not enjoy life? This is my situation. I cannot speak for the others you refer to. I do admit that it looks suspicious when you see nice cars parked in front of shady residences.
