I know you were being tongue and cheek – but most older neighborhoods don’t have HOAs (or mello roos). Older neighborhood doesn’t always mean crappy neighborhood…. look at Mission Hills.[/quote]

Ha….And you also have folks like me that had their cars on blocks in a garage while I was overhauling something …Yeah, folks on my street didn’t really appreciate that I left the garage open…Didn’t get an HOA complaint though, because they know I know that just about everyone else on the street was in violation of the HOA rule that says garages must be used for storing cars before cars can be parked outside. I’m one of the few folks on my street that actually parks cars inside.

But to be fair, a lot of these newer tract homes have much smaller garages…There’s not much space after you stick in two mid-sized cars (and one of mine is smaller sized)….And three car garages..Um, yeah 3 card tandem really is 2 cars + some cabinet space.
