I’m a socialist and believe strongly in a well-funded and accountable government that serves the people. What happened in Bell is beyond criminal, and there is no argument that some heads need to roll there.
Still, what too many do is take the outliers and make generalizations about the rest of the government agencies and employees. So many people don’t see all the benefits we derive from our taxes because so much of it is run so efficiently that it goes unnoticed. The vast majority of what our govt employees do is done exceptionally well and in a very professional manner.
That being said, it is essential that in order to establish and maintain trust and goodwill, the government needs to be judicious and above-board in all their dealings. We do not have that now, admittedly.
