My pump is 1.5 HP, with a 1.5 service factor. Basically, I’m running over 2kw of usage running my pump. 5hours a day, 30 days a month, that’s 300kwh. At .25/kwh, that’s $75 just for the pool pump.
Look into getting a Pentair Intelliflo VF…you can run it at around 200-300 watts, about 90% less. You’ll run it longer, but still saves you money. Your ROI will be about 20-22 months. Then look into solar if this isn’t saving you enough money.
Mine is getting installed next week sometime. San Dieguito Pool is quoting me about $1600 installed. SDGE offers a $200 rebate for getting this pump.
