car dealers are kind of a good example of how more pricing information helps smart buyers get fair pricing. yeah, i can’t go intoa car dealer and tell them how to sell, but i can get detailed dealer pricing and dealer cost info off the internet for a fee and essentially tell them how they’re running their business, what their margin is, what’s a fair margin, and to take my offer or I’ll just go get it down the street.
knowledge is power, and in a sense, control…car dealer’s probably a bad example….
i also personally feel frustrated witha system that is essentially throwing a number out there that feels right, where an agent can’t really tell you what it’s worth or what it’ll appraise for because everything is so unique and unquantifiable and a moving target … i dont’ have any suggestions, though, other than that people should be unemotional and hardnosed, and I am unable to follow that advice.
