Yep. It’s kind of like St. Patricks day – and as American. Until the 90’s it was a St’s day and holiday – but not celebrated with parades and drinking in Ireland. Then the Irish decided to co-opt the holiday back from the US.

Here in the US… it’s all about the booze.

Not that there’s anything wrong with that.

The Mexican Independence day is in September. And barely noticed on this side of the border.
