I am the landed poor(not completely disconnected from food production) and I feel rich in so many ways. Jobs can be considered over-rated and cost a lot to have too.I don’t see much security in saying “if I lose my job I have to move”. I want to be no more than modestly employed and closer to fun-employed the better. Maybe, had my parents and I not habitually squandered my talents(something I probably still do), I would have found a career that was worth the sacrifice, I had choices,but my rebelous nature probably would demand I go my own way anyway. I know some people who love work.At least I didn’t get trapped in a rat race.Cheap digs and to a lesser degree land, has helped a lot with that. Land is helping more now though. I think I can thrive. Oh yes, the important part, If I didn’t have a wife, I probably wouldn’t have bought this place.
