Seriously though, this is the right idea. If I have girls I plan the same. Want to drive a car? First you have to show me you can change a tire, put oil, coolant, and understand the basics before you get into it.

My girl already asked for a real “wammer” hammer and nails, though she did pick the pink one that was at Ace Hardware. She can almost put a nail in a board without hitting my hand that’s holding the nail for her…My hand would appreciate that once she’s able to do that. I use to thread the nail though a piece of thick rope to hold it in place, but then she was pretty sloppy about hitting the nail. Now she knows if she misses, daddy’s hand hurts. She’s much more careful (until she hates me of course).
