I have come to the conclusion that, except for the extremely rare coincidence, rock-bottom prices are an illusion.
If you’re particular about the house, the school district, and the neighborhood then chances of getting something significantly below market are very low.
In addition, often rock-bottom houses are the worst house location in the neighborhood (backs to major street, power lines, double-yellow line street, etc) and that is the real reason they are lowest.
To me, paying a fair price for exactly what you want is the real success story. Here’s to wishing you many happy memories in your new home…
