EconProf: Amen. And, sadly, this is where groups like the Tea Party movement miss the larger, and broader, point. In engaging in this furious, and misguided, populism, they lash out at everyone and everything that they perceive as “the problem”, without realizing that “we” (the people) are the problem.

As Pogo so eloquently put it: “We have met the enemy, and he is us”.
