It looks like the money is going to Calhfa.
Isn’t is strange that nobody seems to care about unemployed renters? When do they get govt money so that they can stop making their rent payments? Should we just let them live rent-free for months or years, too?
For those who wonder about my (and others’) disdain for the FB bailouts, would you feel just as passionate about bailing out renters, too?
I don’t “wonder” about your disdain. I just disagree about the “thin ice” and all that.
Subsidizing renters, other than those at the subsistence level, is a rotten idea. Renters often live in over-sufficient housing too. Why feel sorry for someone who spent the boom years renting beach front or having a nice place all to themselves,or living better than another working person/family, and now can’t afford it?
Where TAX PAYER MONEY is concerned, I think the fb’s and overspending renters should find cheaper shelter, then if they still need help because of a real threat of homelessness, then a saftey net should be there… In the case of renters the system mostly works as it is… if you can’t afford it move . I don’t see where two wrongs would make a right. You would hope that the rediculous use of the nation’s capacity for charity would stop somewhere?
