Yea. Exactly. That’s why a whole series of paintings of these homes would be so intriguing. At Least that’s what I though when I looked through them.

It is as you said/implied; there is a magnificent story to each of them. Stories of triumph, stories of meritocracy and stories of tragedy – all of the stories taking decades to unravel.

What they “were” vs. what they “are”. What a story.
