Life has no point, other than seeking your own contentment (and then you die). These “outside things” (family, friends, charity, whatnot) are not unimportant – don’t get me wrong – they bring some measure of pleasure and happiness to life. But, again, they are ephemeral. In an existential sense, all you’ve really got is your body and brain when you get right down to it. That’s my point.
