Its sounds like you’ve got a good grasp on the situation and a good plan. After a year you can re-evaluate things and it might make sense for you to make the jump for other than financial reasons. If you do, just do your best to find the community that you and your family will thrive in. The window of time to really enjoy your kids is so short.
