Strategically now is the time, with a majority in the House/Senate/Pres, the dems should ‘cram’ as much through as possible.
There are many disgruntled dem voters who are quite likely going to vote out the old guard–Pelosi, Reid, even Obama starting with the 2010 elections. The main factor being lack of jobs. Best forecasts seem to point to the economy staying flat or a slow uptick in 2011.
Assuming there will be shift in power there will not be another good time to push healthcare, cap/trade, etc. for many years. And yes, those buy Democrat voters.
Even then it will take decades to undo these policies.
You’re right BSR it still comes down to the individual voters who put these guys in power.
If only we were growing a generation of voters who think and analyze and not simply buy the political rhetoric.
