For a few hundred bucks it is a no brainer, go ahead and get the mold inspection. Do not use any company that does mold remediation, use a company that only inspects. The basic inspection should use infrared and perform moisture testing. They should also take ambient and local spore samples. To be very thorough you would want them to drill into the areas to take samples as well but this is destructive and may not be permitted by the sellers as you will need permission from them.

If you are spending several hundreds of thousands of dollars don’t quibble over a few hundred.
