What I have odds on the issue is that I don’t believe that the president should have made a judgement about calling the police action stupid.

It may have been stupid, it may not have been stupid. I don’t believe that all the facts were vetted out at the time that he made the statement.

However my opinions are as such:

I think that if Gates were a famous white Harvard professor nothing would have been made of this.

I think that if the cop that arrested Gates would have been Black then Gates would have acted in a different manner.

I think that it is sad that the woman that reported the incident is receiving death threats.

I do believe that racism is alive and well in America and to me that is a very very sad thing.

Obama had nothing to do with the arrest nor did he have anything to do with the subsequent media frenzy around it.

I think that as the president of the United States it would have been more prudent for him to wait until the case was fully investigated before calling the police activity stupid. (I am sorry you associate me with being a racist for feeling that way)

I actually think that comments on this issue by Bill Cosby were quite insightful and I absolutely agree with his assessments.
