flu, you mentioned dividend stocks. I collect ’em. I’ve been lazy for months now, and don’t have any idea which ones look good. Any you like now, or in a 20-30% downturn?
You really want me to answer that? Do yourself a favor and don’t follow what I do…But if you really want to know. The following stocks I own for dividend reasons…
Right now, I regret buying GE and wouldn’t buy Altria. I like the rest (two are tech, which some would be scratching their head on…) The Phillip Morris Intl/Kraft/Altria trio was mainly because I bought a lot of share of Phillip Morris during all the tobacco litigation. Since then, Phillip Morris renamed itself to Altria, which then subsequently spun off Kraft to a separate company, and then split the remaining company into Phillip Morris International for international tobacco business and Altria for domestic tobacco business. I’ve since added positions to PM and KFT but not Altria because I’m concerned with all the crybabies in the U.S. still trying to sue big tobacco in the U.S….Intel, TSM, CVX, and PG I hold for various reasons. In all cases I have the dividends automatically reinvested into new shares, with the exception of TSM…For some reason, my brokerage firm doesn’t allow dividend reinvestment on ADR (TSM trades as an ADR)
