It may seem harsh, but as I read through this article I felt no sympathy for this guy at all. How in the hell did he think he could buy a $500K house while giving half of his money away in alimony/child support payments? This was before his new wife even had a job!

I think the Kool aid analogy we toss around is extremely appropriate. Jim Jone’s followers, either willingly or by force, drank the kool aid and died en masse. This guy did exactly what everyone else was doing at the time, and now that the cyanide is kicking in he wants me to save his financial life. Sorry friend, you’ll recover from this, I promise. I bet you’ll think twice about living above your means again.
