Started lurking in May 2006 while living in Japan. I knew I was being transferred to the LA area, but found this site while doing a search for “Southern California Real Estate Market”. Thought the title was catchy, and it turned out it saved me a couple of hundred thousand dollars, as it convinced me NOT to buy in summer 2006. You see I had saved about $100,000 by that time and the money was burning a hole in my pocket for a real estate purchase. Boy am I glad I didn’t, as I wouldn’t have been able to buy the Dream House in Gaithersburg.

I think I started posting in July 2007 on the “Please help Dina” thread. Still one of my favorites.
