The unions won’t let any China built cars into the country. Obama’s administration will shit can that GM plan anyhow.
Well, to GM’s credit, the 2010 Buick Lacrosse that had a good portion designed in Shanghai does look pretty nice. The interior doesn’t look like any other Buick in the past.
I just found this incredibly distasteful that GM would be using taxpayers money to “save american jobs” and then submit it plan to import at the same time. What were they thinking?????
Regardless of the quantity of vehicles coming in from China, union leaders are none too pleased with the development, says Automotive News. The 12-page document also showed increased production in Mexico, with annual units rising from 317,763 in 2010 to 501,316 in 2014. South Korea, which will likely make new vehicles like the Chevrolet Spark, will increase production from 36,967 in 2010 to 157,126 in 2014. In an open letter, UAW legislative director Alan Reuther has gone on record saying that GM “should not be taking taxpayers’ money simply to finance the outsourcing of jobs to other countries.”
Oh, the irony….I guess some of us will be removing Chrysler and GM from the short list and buy Ford instead. All this taxpayer’s bailout money…In a couple of years, we’ll wonder we did it all go?…Just like your so many americans that buy now and pay later….
