McVeigh? Yeah, that’s a great example. A gunner aboard a Bradley fighting vehicle during Gulf War I. He saw, what, like four days of combat?

I have heard that a large percentage of right wing extremist groups are ex-military.
Is it your thought that this is bullshit?
Would you agree that many of the biker gangs and early counter-culture groups of the 50’s were disaffected ex-military?
Your thoughts?
Dan: I’m presuming you mean the Hell’s Angels? Yeah, I’d heard that it was started by former Rangers and paratroopers returning home from WWII. However, if you look up the origins of the Hell’s Angels, they’re murky, including the origination of the name (alternately ascribed to a USAAF squadron and to the nickname for paratroopers) and who the founders were.
I don’t know that the Hell’s Angels are actively seeking to overthrow the government, though. They seem a little busy with drugs, prostitution, extortion and other fraudulent activities.
“Other counter-culture groups of the 1950s”. Are you saying Jack Kerouac was disaffected ex-military? I’d believe it. That Beat poetry was very subversive.
