Old BMW were well built. I have a 1996 3-series and its been pretty good so far in past 5 years I have owned it. I had more problems with my old Infiniti.

Newer cars, I agree. The Germans have dropped in quality and reliability in past few years. Which is why if I bought a car made after 2003, it would most likely be either a Lexus or Infiniti.
