I like this guys view on drugs and addiction. He is less manipulated by taboos, politics and prevalent dogmas than most. I found his philosophy after having experimented with 12 step programs in my 20’s and found them incompatible with my mental make-up.I don’t smoke anything because I don’t like what it does to me, drink very moderately and am addicted to coffee. I think people should be able to decide what consumptive patterns work for them and society should be able to give feed back when it obviously isn’t working(not sure how). Instead we prohibit and prescribe “legal” and “illegal” drugs at the whim of power and politics. I hate the pushers of Ritalin but heavy use in children was institutionalized.
Mr. Peele has a book “How to Addiction Proof your Child”
Like someone else mentioned , it completely disturbs me that the argument comes down to tax revenues. No wonder we have so many addicts. Debates and decision that cycle around money and politics, create cultural stupidity, which makes for addiction more than all the substances in the world combined.
